Hardik Pandya Shines as India Defeats Namibia by 93 Runs in T20 World Cup
Hardik Pandya showed his dedication to India after the team achieved victory against Namibia in the T20 World Cup at Arun Jaitley Stadium through a 93-run margin.
Pandya expressed his enjoyment of cricket after he received the Player of the Match award. The Indian all-rounder shared his batting skills with pride when Hardik received questions about his batting.
He said “Just enjoying the sport, had a good couple of months to prepare. Touchwood, everything is going well. I have always taken pride in my batting skills. The successful execution of my plan increases the enjoyment of my achievement. I have achieved exceptional body performance because I dedicated extensive effort which I consider important. Playing for the country is the No. 1 priority,” Pandya said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
The all-rounder demonstrated his capability to handle difficult bowling pitches through his demonstration of proper match preparation techniques and match adaptability skills. “I do an army-like camp a month before the tournament. All our fast bowlers and our spin bowlers can handle the various situations we encounter. Varun, Axar and Kuldeep too. The three of them performed their responsibilities exceptionally well. The two consecutive pitches which we used for batting did not provide favorable conditions which made it easy to bat while the wicket retained some moisture until today. The players must develop their abilities while adjusting to the situation. More batting-friendly pitches would benefit us according to him.
India reached a dominant score of 209 runs while losing 9 wickets during their 20 overs of play. Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan delivered an outstanding performance through his 24-ball 61 which included six fours and five sixes. Hard hitter Hardik Pandya played a fantastic knock of 52 off 28 deliveries, including four boundaries and four towering sixes.
Captain Gerhard Erasmus of Namibia achieved a four-wicket performance by taking four wickets and giving up 20 runs. The three other players who took wickets included Ben Shikongo who finished with 1/41, Bernard Scholtz who also had 1/41 and JJ Smit who ended with 1/50.
The opening batting partnership of Louren Steenkamp and Jan Frylinck at Chasing mammoth 210 proceeded to score 51 runs before they lost their wickets.
Captain Gerhard Erasmus and his team suffered a batting collapse as all players failed to reach 30 runs which resulted in Namibia being bowled out for 116 runs in 18.2 overs during their 93-run defeat.
The team used Hardik Pandya (2/21) Arshdeep Singh (1/36) Shivam Dube (1/11) Jasprit Bumrah (1/20) Varun Chakaravarthy (3/7) and Axar Patel (2/20) as their wicket takers.
