At the event held on Friday, a spectator died due to sudden health deterioration. The deceased has been identified as Suraj, a resident of Maharashtra, who was engaged in silver work. Suraj, who was a resident of Maharashtra, was living in Sevaipettai area of ​​Salem due to employment. He used to do silver related work and support his family. His sudden death has deeply affected his family, which includes his wife and a child. The police have now started contacting Suraj’s family so that the post-mortem and other legal procedures can be completed.

Vijay’s political campaign resumes

Actor Vijay has resumed his political campaign through this meeting, which was attended by party officials. The event took place between 12 noon and 3 pm with tight security arrangements. Vijay had earlier addressed a large public meeting in Erode in December 2025. The objective of this meeting was to strengthen the party’s ground position for the upcoming elections.

Strict security and entry rules

In view of the earlier incidents in Karur, the administration and the party had made strict security arrangements. Around 600 policemen were deployed at the rally site. Entry passes with QR codes were arranged, and only 4,998 people were allowed inside. The workers were continuously advised to follow the police guidelines to avoid any untoward incident.
