Australia vs Zimbabwe :R of Colombo. A big upset was witnessed in the 19th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 played on Friday at the Premadasa Stadium, where Zimbabwe defeated the Australian team by 23 runs in the Group B match. Zimbabwe had defeated the mighty Australian team in 2007, they have defeated them once again in 2026 also.

Talking about the match, Australia captain Travis Head won the toss and decided to bowl. After which, on a pitch that looked difficult for batting, Zimbabwe scored 169 runs at the loss of 2 wickets. In which Brian Bennett’s important inning of 64 runs was included. In response, the Australian team could not even last 20 overs and the entire team collapsed for 146 runs. Matt Renshaw played an important inning of 65 runs, but no other batsman could support him.
Blessing Muzarabani and Brad Evans bowled brilliantly for Zimbabwe and did not allow the Australian batsmen to stay on the crease. Muzarabani took four important wickets giving just 17 runs in 4 overs. Evans took three wickets. Apart from this, Wellington Masakadza and Ryan Burl got one wicket each. This defeat is going to trouble Australia for a long time. For now, they will be under pressure to win all the remaining matches to reach the next stage.
