A dreaded gangster from Jammu, Arun Choudhary alias Abu Jatt, allegedly killed terror accused Abdul Rehman inside a jail in the Faridabad area of Haryana.
Within hours of the incident, members of the Abu Jatt gang claimed responsibility through a social media post, stating that the alleged terrorist was killed for hatching a conspiracy against the nation.
Mahendra Delana, described as a key gang member, took to social media to express support for Choudhary. In the post, he warned that anyone involved in anti-national activities would meet a similar fate. “Whoever goes against the country will face this fate. Jai Shri Ram, Ram Ram to all brothers. I, Mahendra Delana (Rohit Godara group), want to inform you, brothers, that Abdul Rehman was killed in Faridabad jail. He was a terrorist and was involved in a conspiracy to attack the Ram Temple,” the post read.
He further wrote, “When he was apprehended in Faridabad, two grenades were recovered from him, and he had been involved in numerous terrorist activities against the country. Brother Arun Choudhary has brought him to justice. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts. This is the fate of anyone who acts against our country. Our heartfelt salute to brother Arun Choudhary.”
Members of the Abu Jatt gang also asserted that they would not tolerate anti-national activities or those involved in them.
According to reports, during an altercation inside the jail, Abu Jatt — a resident of Khour Deonian village in the RS Pura area of Jammu district — allegedly attacked Rehman with stones. Rehman died on the spot within the jail premises.
Rehman, a resident of Milkipur in Uttar Pradesh’s Faizabad district, had been in custody since June 2025 following his arrest in March that year. He was apprehended from Pali village near Faridabad by a joint team of the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad and the Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police. An FIR against him was registered at Dabua Police Station in Faridabad.
At the time of his arrest, officials had stated that Rehman was involved in a conspiracy to carry out an explosion in Ayodhya and was suspected of having links with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI.
Two mobile phones were seized from his possession. Sources had said that several incriminating videos were found on the devices and that he had shared multiple videos with a terror outfit.
Gangster shifted to Haryana jail after prison video went viral
In October 2024, gangster Arun Choudhary alias Abu Jatt was shifted to a Haryana jail after a video recorded inside Kathua jail went viral on Instagram. In the video, Choudhary allegedly claimed that he had bribed a jail official to obtain a mobile phone inside the prison.
Lodged in Kathua jail, Choudhary had earlier been arrested along with three accomplices following an encounter in Punjab in connection with the alleged killing of Samba resident Akshay Sharma on December 25, 2023. He was later booked in FIR No. 93/2023 under Section 302 of the IPC and relevant provisions of the Arms Act.
