T20 World Cup 2026: Abhishek completely fit to play against Pakistan, Varun Chakraborty told health update

Delhi. Indian spinner Varun Chakraborty has said that aggressive opener Abhishek Sharma, who is recovering from a stomach infection, looks completely fit to play in the important T20 World Cup match against Pakistan on Sunday. Abhishek could not play in the match against Namibia on Thursday due to ill health. He had to be hospitalized for two days due to stomach infection.

Chakraborty said that the opening batsman is feeling better and feels that he can play the next match. Chakraborty said,I think he will play the next match. I don’t know the details of his situation. But I’ve talked to him, he seems to be in good shape. He also did some exercise today. He told that he is in the process of returning.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav had said at the time of the toss that Abhishek may remain out of one or two matches before he is fully fit. In Abhishek’s absence, Sanju Samson opened the innings with Ishan Kishan.
