CBSE Board Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education’s 2026 10th and 12th board exams are scheduled to begin on February 17, 2026. With very little time left for the exams to begin, CBSE students are also busy with last-minute revision. Meanwhile, new guidelines have been issued before the exams begin. On-screen marking in Class 12 will expedite evaluation, reducing the time from 12 to 9 days.
A notice has been issued directing schools to upload their practical and internal assessment scores. The board has set February 14 as the deadline. Schools can upload their scores on the board’s website, cbse.gov.in. This is to ensure there are no discrepancies in the marks and to avoid any delays in the release of results.
The CBSE has warned schools that if they fail to upload their marks by February 14, they could face heavy fines. He believes that, along with the exam itself, it’s also important to enter the marks data on time. If marks are updated on the portal on time, the likelihood of last-minute errors will be reduced and the process of preparing the final result will be expedited.
On-Screen Marking System
According to the CBSE, each year, over 1.8 million students appear for the Class 12 exam in 120 subjects, and over 10 million answer sheets are checked. This time, the implementation of the digital on-screen marking system will significantly reduce the time required for transporting and checking answer sheets.
Answer sheets will be scanned after the exam.

• Examiners will check answers on computer screens.

Important Advisory for Students
The Board has advised all students to reach the examination center well in advance on the day of the examination. The board examination will begin at 10:30 am, so students must reach the center by 10:00 am. In view of potential problems such as traffic jams or diversions, the Board has advised students to visit the center in advance and understand the route.
CCTV will be monitored
Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that strict instructions have been given to examination centers for the board exam, and CCTV must be operational at all examination centres. Action can be taken if the cameras are found to be off.
