You can grow it in two ways: from its fresh stalks brought from the market or by bringing a small plant from the nursery. 1. Things needed to grow lemongrass: Pot: Pot at least 10-12 inches deep and wide (so that its roots can spread). Soil: Fertile soil with good drainage. Lemongrass sticks: Fresh lemongrass sticks purchased from the market (with the knot at the bottom protected). 2. Growing method (Step-by-Step Process) Step 1: Developing roots in water Cut the upper leaves of the lemongrass stalks brought from the market and keep the lower part (about 2-3 inches) in a glass of water. Keep the glass in a place where sunlight comes. Roots will emerge in it in 1-2 weeks. Step 2: Preparing the soil. Mix 30% cowdung manure or vermicompost in the soil. Keep in mind that there should be holes at the bottom of the pot so that water does not accumulate. Step 3: Planting When the length of the roots becomes 1-2 inches, plant it 2-3 inches deep in the prepared soil.3. Special care tipsSunlight: Lemongrass needs plenty of sunlight. Keep it in a place with direct sunlight for at least 5-6 hours a day. Water: There should always be moisture in the soil, but do not allow waterlogging. Water it daily in summer. Pruning: When the plant becomes dense, keep cutting the old and yellow leaves from the bottom so that new leaves get space. 4. Benefits of lemongrass: It helps in naturally repelling mosquitoes (Mosquito Repellent). Its tea is helpful in weight loss and detoxification. It has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which provide relief from cold and cough.
