This development, which came to light after the phone conversation, has also increased India’s strategic concerns. BNP has got two-thirds majority in the recent elections and the party is returning to power after almost two decades. In such a situation, Pakistan’s activism is being considered an important sign in the politics of South Asia.

After the phone conversation, Shahbaz Sharif posted on social media platform

Referring to the legacy of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, he talked about taking forward the old relations between the two countries. During the conversation, Shahbaz told Tariq Rehman "my brother"Addressed by saying.

BNP has traditionally been considered inclined towards Pakistan. In such a situation, this contact of Islamabad holds special importance in diplomatic circles. It is believed that Pakistan wants to strengthen the foundation of its relations even before the formation of the new government in Dhaka.

Shahbaz invited to visit Dhaka

According to Pakistani reports, both the leaders have agreed to increase mutual cooperation and maintain regular contacts. Tariq Rehman has also invited Shahbaz Sharif to visit Bangladesh.

This development has come to light at a time when the eyes of various countries are fixed on Dhaka regarding the changing equations in South Asia.

Why is change important for India?

During the tenure of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, there was close coordination between India and Bangladesh in security, border management and anti-terrorism cooperation. His relations with India have been considered positive and he has also shown strictness on cross-border activities.

Now that the new government is going to be formed, Pakistan’s quick activism is being seen as a new strategic move.

Increasing activism and regional concern

Since the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina, Pakistan has been continuously trying to strengthen its relations with Bangladesh. Even during the interim government, Pakistani ministers and military officers visited Bangladesh.

Analysts believe that Pakistan’s increasing activism in Bangladesh could be a matter of concern for India, especially in terms of the security of the eastern border. According to the election results, BNP and its allies have got more than 212 seats, while Jamaat-e-Islami and its allies have got 70 seats.

Jamaat-e-Islami has registered victory in the areas bordering India, which were already considered sensitive. In such a situation, the new government in Dhaka and the activism of Islamabad have created a new stir in regional politics.
