4 arrested including live-in partner, stench emanating from the tank revealed the secret
In the Nishatpura area of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, a sensation spread in the area after the decomposed body of a woman was found stuck in a trunk in a water tank built on an empty plot. This incident, which took place in Six Ghara area of Kamal Nagar, has raised many questions on the reality of relationships. The police have identified the deceased and arrested four people including her live-in partner.
Initial investigation has revealed that the woman was murdered on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. It is alleged that after the murder, the body was kept in the house for a day and then packed in a trunk and thrown in a water tank located about 200 meters away.
How was the woman’s murder revealed?
On Thursday afternoon, a local resident started smelling a strong smell near the water tank. When he became suspicious, he informed the police. As soon as the information was received, the team of Nishatpura police station and forensic experts reached the spot. The tank, about 10 feet deep and partially filled with water, was emptied with the help of local people. A trunk was recovered from inside, which contained the body of a woman. A dead animal was also found inside the tank.
Who all got arrested?
The police have arrested the live-in partner of the deceased considering him as the main accused. Along with him, his mother, brother and sister have also been detained. Investigation revealed that the accused had slipped while disposing of the body, after which he sought help from his family. According to officials, family members also helped him in throwing the body in the tank.
What was the condition of the dead body?
Station House Officer Manoj Patwa said, “The body appeared to be three to four days old and was decomposed to a great extent at the time of recovery.” Police suspect that stones were kept inside the trunk so that it remained submerged in water.

Police have registered a case of murder. Forensic evidence is being collected and efforts are being made to connect the entire chain of events. Officials say that the exact reason and time of the murder will be clear after the post-mortem report and technical investigation. This sensational incident has once again sparked a debate on increasing crime and domestic violence in live-in relationships.
Nishatpura police station in-charge (TI) Manoj Patwa said that local residents had informed the police on Thursday evening about the strong foul smell coming from the septic tank. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and searched the tank, from where the woman’s body was recovered.
He told that the dead body appeared to be about three to four days old. Due to excessive decomposition, no obvious injury marks are visible on the body. The deceased was wearing palazzo. The name ‘Deep’ is tattooed on his hand with the date 26 May 1992 inscribed on it. Police guess that this could be his date of birth.
Preliminary investigation has also revealed that the deceased Ashrafi was earlier married to three different persons in Maharashtra and Rajasthan. The police is now also investigating his past marital life and current relationships, so that the entire truth of the matter can be revealed.
