Man leaves snake in washroom of Mumbai-Solapur Vande Bharat Express, police arrested
Railway Protection Force of Central Railway has revealed the sensational case of releasing snake in Mumbai-Solapur Vande Bharat Express and arrested the accused. This shocking incident came to light in train number 22225 on December 27, when a snake was found in the toilet of coach C-16 during the journey, which created panic among the passengers and railway staff.
No passengers were harmed
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the railway employees immediately closed the toilet concerned and informed the control room. When the train reached Solapur station, the snake was taken out safely with the help of experts. It is a matter of relief that no passenger was harmed in this entire incident.
Taking the matter seriously, RPF started investigation and scanned the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the train. In the footage, a suspicious person was seen going to the toilet and doing some suspicious activity. Based on technical evidence and intelligence, the investigation team identified the accused as Jagan Arjun Bhale, 37, a resident of Nashik district. RPF arrested him from Mumbra on 12 February.
The accused confessed to the crime
During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to his crime. A case has been registered against him under various sections of the Railways Act, 1989, which include serious charges like illegal entry, nuisance and endangering the safety of passengers. The accused was produced in the railway court at Kalyan, from where he was sent to 14-day judicial custody for further investigation.
Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, Swanil Neela said that RPF is investigating this matter from every aspect. Officials say that the motive behind this dangerous step of the accused is being ascertained. The railway administration also clarified that the safety of passengers is the top priority and strict measures will be taken to prevent such incidents.
This incident has raised many questions regarding the railway security system. Due to the prompt action of RPF, a potentially major threat was averted in time.
