He said that in the last one and a half decade, the country’s economy has weakened and the constitutional and statutory institutions have become almost ineffective. He promised that his priority would be to revive the weak economy and improve the broken law and order system so that an accountable governance system can be established in the country.

National unity and end of dictatorship

Tariq Rahman gave a strong message in his speech, saying that Bangladesh will not tolerate the recurrence of dictatorship again at any cost. He stressed that the country should not be someone’s ‘subordinate state’ will not be allowed to be built and the sovereignty of Bangladesh will be protected. Referring to all the 51 political parties (like Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP and others) participating in this election, he appealed to everyone to remain united.

After the victory, Tariq Rehman’s attitude towards international cooperation has also shown positive.
