Who is Saket Srinivasaiah? 22-year-old IIT Madras graduate missing in US Berkeley

Saket Srinivasiah, a 22-year-old Indian postgraduate student from Karnataka, has been reported missing from Berkeley, California since February 9, 2026. He is pursuing his Master’s in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley (MS PDP ’26 program), after completing his B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Madras (Class of 2025).

His LinkedIn profile describes him as passionate about deep-tech innovation. in Soft and Active Materials, Semiconductors and Advanced Materials: “I am a master’s student in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department at UC Berkeley, and have an undergraduate degree from IIT Madras.”

The Berkeley Police Department classified him as an at-risk missing person and appealed for help from the public. He is reported to be 6 feet 1 inch tall, weigh approximately 160 pounds (73 kg), have short black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen Feb. 10 in the 1700 block of Dwight Way near campus. After reports indicated she was seen near Lake Anza in the Berkeley Hills, her backpack—containing her passport and laptop—was found on a doorstep in the Park Hills neighborhood near Tilden Regional Park.

His roommate, Baneet Singh, posted on LinkedIn: “Hey everyone, my roommate, Saket Srinivasiah, has been missing since Monday the 9th, last seen near Lake Anza in the Berkeley Hills. If anyone I know knows anyone in the area who has seen him recently, please pass on any information. I am working with the police department to find him… thank you.”

The Consulate General of India in San Francisco has expressed deep concern about X, and said that they are in touch with his family and are coordinating with local authorities to locate him. The search continues with updates from police and community efforts. If anyone has any information, they are requested to contact Berkeley Police.
