Although, initially the matter seemed to be resolved through mutual talks, but after the reconciliation meeting to be held on Sunday was postponed, violence broke out. After this, incidents like stone pelting and arson of houses on the night of 9 February came to light. Heavy impact on life
The worst impact of this deadlock that has been going on for the last one week has fallen on the general public. Vehicular movement on the Imphal-Ukhrul road is almost at a standstill. Buses and private vehicles are off the roads, leading to shortage of essential goods in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
