Three dead bodies in a car parked on Delhi’s Peeragarhi flyover revealed a dangerous story of superstition and greed. An alleged Tantrik would ask for photographs of women from people, would look at their features and claim that wealth would shower on this girl.
According to the agency, the method of Kamruddin, resident of Firozabad in UP, was very vicious. He would first recognize the economic weakness of the people and then show them the dream of rain of wealth. Claims – If there is a tall girl in the family with open hair, then a jinn will make physical contact with her in an invisible way. And after this it will rain money. Kamaruddin would ask for pictures of girls, then decide after looking at their features and say – wealth will shower on this girl.
During investigation, many such pictures were found from the phone of the victim Lakshmi, in which women were seen standing with open hair holding papers. It was written about him on the paper. These pictures were shared from different numbers and circulated in many groups. Police say that these photographs were used for selection.
He would ask people to keep their mobile phones on flight mode during the meeting, so that no call or recording could be made. Up to Rs 7 thousand were charged for one meeting. Those who agreed to pay Rs 2 lakh were assured of a special ritual. If there is no result, then excuses are also ready – sometimes it is said that the girl has been bitten by some animal, sometimes that she has been operated on, so the jinn will not come.
But how did three people die in that car in Peeragarhi? According to police investigation, the accused prepared a deadly mixture by mixing sulfas (aluminium phosphide), sleeping pills and cold drink. It was mixed in laddus and fed to the victims. The poison was so strong that he did not even get a chance to get out of the car. Police reached the accused through call detail records and technical surveillance. In the CCTV footage, he was seen getting out of the car at 3.02 pm – with a pink bag in his hand.
When the police reached his house in Loni, he did not open the door. Made the excuse of the children being unwell. Later, he tried to escape by climbing a 15 feet high wall, but was caught.
According to the police, his name has come up in six murder cases in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi, while there is a possibility of involvement in two more cases.
