Namibia scored 100 runs in 7 overs, then the pace stopped in the middle overs, Team India will have to remain alert against Pakistan!

IND vs NAM: The 18th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 was played between India and Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Team India won this match by 93 runs, but their performance has raised many questions. Batting first after losing the toss, the Indian team had such a explosive start that it seemed that the team’s score would cross 240. The team scored 100 runs in just 7 overs. But after this, due to the fall of wickets, the run pace stopped in the middle overs and the Indian team could reach only 209 runs.
No runs were scored in the middle overs against Namibia
In the match played against Namibia, the Indian openers scored a lot of runs in the powerplay and scored 100 runs in 7 overs. It was raining boundaries in every over. But as soon as the middle overs started, the direction of the match changed. As soon as the spinners arrived, the pace of the Indian batsmen stopped. The team which scored 100 runs in 7 overs could score only 109 runs in 13 overs. This decline is raising questions on India’s planning in the middle order.
In the absence of Abhishek, Ishaan scored runs rapidly but due to early dismissal of Surya and Tilak, the pace of runs suddenly stopped. However, Hardik along with Shivam Dubey increased the run rate and played an important role in taking the score to 200.

Wickets fell continuously in death overs
Nevertheless, the Indian team could not show the pace that was expected in the death overs. Hardik Pandya completed his half-century by hitting a six on the first ball of the 19th over. In his very next ball, he got caught while trying to hit it very short. After this, wickets kept falling continuously and India could score only 209 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. In the last 4 overs, India lost 5 wickets and scored only 25 runs.
India now has to play its next group match against Pakistan on 15 February in Colombo. Colombo pitch is spin friendly, so Indian batsmen will need better planning against Pakistan’s spin bowlers.
