If you are a Yogi, then how can you remain the Chief Minister? Swami Avimukteshwarananda’s sharp counterattack on CM Yogi’s statement about Shankaracharya
Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had presented his side on the Shankaracharya controversy in the Assembly during the budget session on Friday. He had said that no person can call himself Shankaracharya and be above the law, not even the Chief Minister. Now Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda has given his sharp reaction to CM Yogi’s statement. He retorted and said that in Sanatan Paramparam, the identity of Shankaracharya is not decided by any political or government certificate.
He said that one who has become a Yogi should stay away from politics. A king can become a yogi, but a yogi does not become a king again. So now the question is that if you are a Yogi, then how can you accept power as the Chief Minister?
SP had killed in 2015 and now you…
Actually, in an interview given to this media organization, Shankaracharya said that SP had killed Shankaracharya in time. You have also killed in your time. This means that whoever SP killed, now we can also kill him. If this is the definition, then how can you be different from SP? He said that the same ego which had risen on the forehead of Akhilesh Yadav in 2015, has now risen on your forehead too. Akhilesh Yadav is ruined, now we will look after him.
Government cannot appoint Shankaracharya…
Avimukteshwaranand said that there is no such tradition in Sanatan Dharma that any Chief Minister or Government appoints Shankaracharya by giving a certificate. Shankaracharya said that the traditions of Sanatan Dharma are centuries old and the religious positions in it are determined on the basis of spiritual tradition, religious beliefs and Guru-disciple tradition. He clearly said that no political party in the government can decide who will be Shankaracharya or not?
No one can call himself Shankaracharya…CM Yogi
Let us tell you that on Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had presented his side in the Assembly during the budget session on the Shankaracharya controversy. One is not a yogi just by wearing saffron clothes…Akhilesh Yadav
CM Yogi accused Shankaracharya that the issue over which controversy was created in Madh Mela was not a real issue but a deliberate attempt was made to spoil the atmosphere. He said that in view of the crowd of crores of devotees on Mauni Amavasya, the administration had made special arrangements and no one could be allowed to break the rules. Along with this, he targeted the opposition and asked that if the person concerned was Shankaracharya then why was no action taken against him in the past. On this entire matter, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav hit back at CM Yogi and said that no one becomes a Yogi just by wearing saffron clothes or getting the ears pierced.
