Retro look, modern power, test mule spot of the new Triumph Speed Twin 1200, will the fun of riding change?
New Triumph Bike: British bike manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles Triumph is preparing to introduce its popular modern-classic motorcycle Speed Twin 1200 with a major update. Recently the ‘test mule’ of this bike was launched abroad. Has been seen, which clearly indicates that the company is going to make a big improvement in performance and ride quality. New spy images show that Triumph is modernizing the engineering while maintaining the classic design, to provide an even better experience for the next generation of riders.
New frame design: lighter and more agile
The biggest change this time is seen in the frame of the bike. Where earlier a dual-cradle frame was provided, now a design has been brought in its place in which the engine is housed in a ‘Stressed Member’ Has been used as. The purpose of this technology is to increase the structural strength of the bike and reduce the overall weight. The result is better control, more agility and confidence in cornering.
Major change in suspension
Link-type monoshock suspension has now been given at the rear, replacing the conventional twin shock absorbers. This is considered a big upgrade from performance point of view. This new setup will provide better stability at high speeds and make handling more precise. Although this change may seem a little different to those who like the retro look, but it will prove to be a big advantage in terms of ride quality.
Tires and Braking: Racing Grip’s Confidence
The 17-inch alloy wheels have been retained in the testing model. For better grip, Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tires have been installed in it. The braking system sees a 320 mm dual disc brake setup with Brembo calipers at the front and a single disc brake at the rear. The new frame and suspension will make the efficiency of these brakes more effective.

Engine and power: same, new style
Only 1,200 cc parallel-twin engine can be seen in the bike. In the current model, this engine gives power of 103.5 hp and torque of 112.5 Nm. Although the company has not released official figures, it is expected that some technical changes will be made keeping in mind the emission standards, which can make the power delivery even smoother.
Modern attitude with classic identity
Triumph’s strategy is clear to modernize the Speed Twin 1200, but retain its retro identity. The new frame and monoshock suspension will make it stronger in the modern sports-classic segment. This bike will be especially liked by those riders who want sharp riding dynamics along with style.
