Bengaluru: Horrific accident in school, six year old girl’s two fingers cut off, parents made serious allegation of negligence.

Bengaluru. A scary accident took place on February 9 at the Government Model Higher Primary School in Guluru village of Tumkuru district of Karnataka. Chinmayidevi, a six-year-old Class I student, was standing in the lunch line when her hand got stuck in the gap of the iron door and two fingers were cut off.

The girl’s mother, GH Ambika, alleged that the door was pushed from behind, causing her daughter’s fingers to be cut. He also said that the severed body part was thrown away by the school staff.

Ambika said that around 2:30 pm, a teacher called over the phone saying it was a minor injury, but when the parents reached the school, the girl was found unconscious and soaked in blood. No immediate medical attention was given and the girl was kept on the school premises until her parents arrived. He was later taken to Tumakuru Government Hospital on his father’s motorcycle.

The parents filed a complaint against headmaster Nagesh, teacher, care staff Venkatesh and block education officer Hanumanthappa. He alleged that when he asked for the severed fingers, the employee said they were thrown away to avoid scaring children.

Further, when the local Gram Panchayat member contacted the BEO, Hanumanthappa allegedly avoided the matter and made caste-based derogatory remarks before ending the call.

An FIR has been registered in this case at Tumkuru Rural Police Station under sections 125(a), 238, 190 of the Indian Penal Code 2023 and section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. The matter is still under investigation.
