Guwahati14 February. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said here on Saturday that the BJP government is doing all-round development of Assam. North-East is a priority of the government and is dedicated to its development whereas Congress had ignored this region.
Encouragement of BJP workers increased – ‘Our faith is in the organization’
PM Modi, who is visiting Assam for the third time in the election year, said while addressing a public meeting in the capital, ‘If anyone gets the credit for where BJP has reached today, it goes only to the BJP workers. We believe in organization. We consider the power of organization to be the basis of change in national life. Therefore, it is a great privilege to see such a large number of grassroots workers. We have lived by the same mantra, we are exhausting ourselves to realize the same mantra. That mantra is – Bharat Mata ki Jai!
PM Modi said that since 2014, more than 125 great personalities from the North-East have received Padma awards. This shows how great is the potential of the soil of Assam and North-East. This capability of North-East is now a major foundation of developed India. He said, ‘Mother Kamakhya has been very kind to Assam, the people of Assam, the country and the countrymen. With his blessings, Assam has given many children who are responsible for national defense and carrying forward the country’s independence and culture.
The North-East which Congress ignored, we are serving him with devotion‘
Referring to the Union Budget, PM Modi said, ‘The country’s budget has come just a few days ago. This is my first visit to Assam and North-East after the budget. We are serving the North-East with devotion, which was always ignored by the Congress. North-East is Ashtalakshmi for us. This year’s budget… is going to further strengthen the vision of BJP-NDA for Ashtalakshmi.
Assam to get funds from Center for development projects in 11 years 5.50 received more than lakh crores
He said that during the time of Congress, Assam used to get only Rs 10 thousand crore as tax share. Now under the BJP government, Assam is getting five times more money than the Congress government. If we talk about the last 11 years, Assam has received more than Rs 5.50 lakh crore from the Central Government for various development projects. There is a lot of focus in the budget on making the North-East economically self-reliant. This time Assam is going to get about Rs 50 thousand crore as tax share. How Assam was kept desperate for every penny during the time of Congress. You will remember that very well.
Connectivity of North-East was further strengthened in the budget.
PM Modi said that in this year’s budget, work has been done to further strengthen the connectivity of North-East. As connectivity increases, employment opportunities also increase. Therefore, it has been decided to give thousands of crores of rupees to Assam for highway and other road projects. The announcement made in the budget will also expand tourism in Assam.
He said, ‘You must have seen that the program of discussion on examination was held in Guwahati. We had discussed with the students about the cruise in Brahmaputra river. In the coming times, similar river tourism will be further expanded on Brahmaputra.
Tribute to those who lost their lives in Pulwama attack
Referring to the Pulwama attack, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘Today is the anniversary of the Pulwama attack. I salute the brave sons of Mother India who lost their lives in this attack. The whole world has seen the way India punished the terrorists after this terrorist attack. Now you have seen this power of India in Operation Sindoor also.
Too much shame on Congress
He asked the crowd in a questioning tone, ‘But, I want to know from you whether Congress ever had the strength to take decisions with such courage in the interest of the country? He can give maximum statements. The Congress which refuses to even accept India as a nation… which questions what Maa Bharati is, which avoids even the name of Maa Bharati, which does not show even the slightest respect towards Maa Bharati, that Congress can never do any good to India.
PM Modi said that today’s Congress shoulders every thought… every terrorist… who thinks bad about the country. Those who dream of breaking the country into pieces… those who raise slogans of separating the North-East from India… have become revered for the Congress.

He said that at the time of independence, Muslim League divided the country. Now today’s Congress has again started dividing the country by becoming Muslim League Maoist Congress i.e. MMC. Therefore, you have to be cautious of Congress and also caution the people of Assam.
