AAP attacks BJP on the pretext of ‘Privilege Committee’, politics heats up over Delhi Assembly’s decision – Read

In the former Chief Minister Atishi video case, Delhi Assembly has sent notice to three officers of Punjab and sought their reply by 20th February. Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj is furious over the entire matter. Saurabh said that BJP is remembering the Privilege Committee today. Before doing this, the Center and LG should look inside themselves.

AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said that Aam Aadmi Party was in power in Delhi for ten years. In the matter of privilege, the LG of Bharatiya Janata Party never allowed the Delhi Police constable to appear before the Assembly Committee. You MLAs used to raise questions to Delhi Police that drugs are being sold here, murders are happening here and wrong things are happening here. The answer to all these questions did not come from Delhi Police. It was said that this Legislative Assembly does not have the power to ask questions to Delhi Police. The same Bharatiya Janata Party is saying today that the DGP of Punjab should come here and report to us. This is a very amazing thing.

BJP destroyed institutions

AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged that BJP has destroyed these institutions. Now BJP wants to summon the DGP of Punjab through these institutions, but before that the Delhi BJP government, Center and LG should look inside their own pockets.

It is being told that the AAP government of Punjab has opened a front against the Delhi government regarding Atishi. It remains to be seen which state’s government will prevail.

Answer sought by 20th February

In fact, in the Atishi video case, the Delhi Assembly has again sent a notice to the Jalandhar Police Commissioner, seeking a reply by 20th February. Delhi Police Secretariat has issued a letter to Punjab’s Additional Secretary (Home), Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav and Jalandhar Police Commissioner, reprimanding them for not replying within the stipulated time. Earlier, clarification was sought till 12th February, but if no reply was received, now the last opportunity has been given till 20th February.

Action will be taken if response is not received

It has been made clear in the letter that if the reply is not received within the stipulated time, action for breach of privilege and contempt can be initiated. This action is related to Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Atishi. He was accused of making alleged objectionable remarks about Sikh Gurus during the proceedings of the House. Complaints were lodged in this context.
