New Delhi. Online fraudsters steal lakhs of rupees from people’s bank accounts, sometimes by asking for OTP, sometimes by posing as officials of a mobile company and sometimes in the name of digital arrest. Now they have come up with a new way of cheating in the name of 8th Pay Commission. Lakhs of central government employees are curious as to how much their salaries will increase after the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission? Thugs have started trying to capitalize on this curiosity. Cyber Dost of the Home Ministry has warned the central employees and pensioners about the fraud being done in the name of 8th Pay Commission.

Cyber friend of the Home Ministry has told that the fraudsters have named this method as salary calculator. In this type of fraud, fraudsters ask people to download the 8th Pay Commission Calculator app. There are no apps for fraudsters on Android’s Play Store or Apple’s App Store. They download it on the phone through APK. As soon as the APK file is downloaded, the mobile phone of the concerned person comes into the online possession of the thugs. With this, they can also view the messages and OTPs coming from the bank while sitting at a distance. After which they break into the bank account and steal the money. Apart from this, many important information kept in your mobile also gets into the hands of thugs. Many people have been cheated by fraudsters by luring them with the 8th Pay Commission calculator.

Cyber Dost has told that the Central Government never sends any APK file through WhatsApp or messaging app. In such a situation, people should not respond to messages or calls coming from unknown numbers. Never click on any such link on WhatsApp or messaging app. If the click is made by mistake, then stop the downloading app immediately and fraud can be avoided by factory resetting the phone. Information about the 8th Pay Commission is being given by the government from time to time. After the Pay Commission report comes, the government itself will tell how much increase there will be in salary and pension. Therefore, depend only on the information provided by the government. The 8th Pay Commission report will come by May 2027. It is likely to be implemented from January 2026.
