The claim of Rajpal Yadav’s release with the help of Salman Khan is false! What is the truth of viral video?

A video related to actor Rajpal Yadav is becoming increasingly viral on social media these days, in which he is seen thanking Salman. After the video surfaced, speculations started that Rajpal Yadav, who was in jail in a loan and check bounce case of Rs 9 crore, has got release with the help of Salman Khan. However, during investigation this claim has proved to be misleading.

In the viral clip, Rajpal Yadav is heard saying, “Salman bhai is like an elder brother, sitting with Salman bhai today, I feel very happy from inside.” On the question asked by the media about the bail, he says, “I am really feeling relieved.” Based on this statement, many social media users speculated that he has recently been released from jail.

Rajpal Yadav is reportedly out of jail now, and soon after his release, he thanked Salman Khan for his support. He said:

But the fact is that this video is not recent. This is from the year 2018, when Rajpal Yadav was released after serving his sentence in a previous case. At that time, he was held guilty of non-payment of loan of about Rs 5 crore taken for the production of his film ‘Aata Pata Lapata’ and check bounce case. This action was taken under the Negotiable Instruments Act and he spent about three months in jail.

Currently Rajpal Yadav is lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail after surrendering on 5 February 2026 in a long-pending loan and check bounce case of Rs 9 crore. The case pertains to a loan taken to finance a film project, which they failed to repay in full.

While some users on social media praised Salman Khan and claimed his release, many others called it an old video and appealed to check the facts.

Meanwhile, filmmaker Priyadarshan also reacted to Rajpal Yadav’s situation. He said that he has known the actor for 20 years and considers him to be a hard-working and good person. Priyadarshan said, “The poor guy made a big mistake because of his lack of education. Rajpal is a good person.” He also revealed that he had advised some producers to pay Rajpal more than his normal fees to support him during these difficult times.

It is clear that the viral video is old and has no connection with the recent release of Rajpal Yadav. The actor is currently in jail and the legal process of the case is going on.
