2 new flyovers will be built on Kalindi Kunj road, 45 minutes will be saved; Know the complete plan of NHAI – Read
If you travel from Noida to Delhi or Faridabad, then the hour-long traffic jam at Kalindi Kunj Barrage must have become a part of your daily routine. But now the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has prepared a masterplan to root out this problem. Approval has been given to build two new flyovers from Madanpur Khadar Pulia to Noida.
With the completion of this project, about 6 lakh people commuting from Noida to Jasola Vihar, Okhla Vihar, Sarita Vihar, Badarpur and Faridabad will be benefited daily. At present, people waste 40 to 45 minutes in crossing this stretch, which will be reduced to just a few minutes after the construction of the flyover.
What is the complete plan of NHAI?
Under the plan to make Delhi jam free, this project has got the green signal. Two 1.5 km long flyovers will be built from Madanpur Khadar Pulia to Noida, which will have three lanes each. To ease the movement, two new bridges will also be constructed on Agra Canal. With the help of these bridges, GD Birla Road will be widened from both sides.
People going to Jasola, Okhla and Jamia will be able to take the lower route (GD Birla Marg), while people going to Faridabad, Mithapur and KMP Expressway will use the new flyover. Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra said, “To eliminate the jam problem of Noida-Kalindi Kunj Road, in-principle approval has been given to the project. Work on it will start soon.”
Rajghat and Shantivan will also be signal-free
Not only Kalindi Kunj, there are also preparations for major changes on the Ring Road, which is called the lifeline of Delhi. Public Works Department (PWD) is going to make Rajghat and Shantivan crossing completely signal-free. After eliminating traffic signals at intersections, U-turns will be made 150 meters ahead and behind. Vehicles will not have to stop at red lights, which will maintain the speed on the ring road and also reduce pollution.
Why is this project important?
Kalindi Kunj Barrage is the point with the highest number of complaints with Delhi Traffic Police. Due to traffic jam, the level of pollution in the area increases significantly due to vehicles’ engines running. According to NHAI, the traffic survey has been completed and soon the construction work will be started after preparing DPR (Detailed Project Report).
