New weather trend in the country: Alert of rain and strong winds in 11 states, snowfall on mountains and fog in plains.

The temperature had just started rising in many parts of the country when the weather seemed to be taking a turn once again. India Meteorological Department has issued an alert of light to moderate rain, strong winds and snowfall in some hilly areas in 11 states. This change has come about due to the activation of Western Disturbance, the effect of which will also be visible in the form of fog and coldness in the plains.

This fluctuation in the weather will continue in the next few days. While winter will return due to snowfall in the mountains of North India, life in the plains may be affected due to rain and fog. IMD has advised to be cautious.

Alert of strong winds, rain and snowfall

According to EMD, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Madhya Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands for the next few days. In some areas the wind speed can reach 40 kilometers per hour. There are chances of snowfall with light-moderate rain in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh on 16-17 February. The effect of western disturbance is bringing snow on the mountains and rain in the plains.

Delhi-NCR weather

The weather will remain quite pleasant in the national capital Delhi today. The sky is expected to remain clear and the maximum temperature may be recorded around 26 degrees Celsius. Yesterday, the maximum temperature was 27 degrees, which was 3.6 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was 9.2 degrees, which was 1 degree below average. An increase of 1-3 degrees in minimum temperature is possible in the next few days.

Temperature drops due to rain in Uttar Pradesh

The weather patterns seem to be changing in Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in many districts on 17-18 February. This will cause a sudden drop in temperature and the feeling of cold may increase again.

Fog in Bihar, dry weather in Rajasthan

There is no possibility of rain in Haar for the next three days, but it may remain cloudy in many districts including Patna. Dense fog can increase problems in districts like Siwan, Saran, Bhojpur, Buxar, East Champaran, West Champaran, Gaya, Jehanabad, Purnia, Saharsa, Katihar, Kishanganj, Samastipur, Darbhanga and Madhubani.
The weather will be dry in most areas of Rajasthan. According to Jaipur Meteorological Center, there will be a slight increase in temperature in the next 2-3 days. Due to the effect of weak western disturbance, strong winds and light rain are possible at some places on 17-18 February.

Temperature expected to rise in Maharashtra-Karnataka

In many other states including Maharashtra and Karnataka, an increase of 2 to 3 degrees in maximum temperature may be recorded. However, due to cloud cover in some areas, the feeling of heat will reduce.
