India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2026: Danger of rain in Colombo, match may be affected
The third group-stage match of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, but due to the change in weather, the match is under threat of rain. According to the Sri Lanka Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain or storm in Colombo after 2:00 pm.
The India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM, and the toss will take place at 6:30 PM. The temperature in Colombo that day can reach 34°C, while the minimum temperature will be around 24°C. Humidity is expected to range from 85% to 50%.
The Sri Lanka Meteorological Department issued a warning for February 15, saying, “Hazy conditions may be observed in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.”
If the match is abandoned due to rain, both the teams will get one point each, as there is no reserve day scheduled for the India-Pakistan group-stage match.
So far both the teams have played two matches each in the tournament and both have registered their respective wins. India has won against USA and Namibia, while Pakistan has defeated Netherlands and USA.
India, who are the top team in Group A under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, are at the first position with four points and a net run rate (NRR) of +3.050, while Pakistan is also at the second position with four points but have an NRR of +0.932.
