Body of missing Indian student Saket Srinivasiah recovered in California, family will get help in India, know the whole matter
California. The body of 22-year-old Indian student Saket Srinivasiah, who went missing in California, USA, has been recovered. Saket, who hailed from Tumkuru in Karnataka, was pursuing post graduation at the University of California, Berkeley. His missing case came to light on February 9 and after that the local police intensified the search for him.
Indian Embassy gave information-
The Indian Embassy in San Francisco confirmed that police have recovered Saket’s body. The embassy expressed condolences to the family and loved ones and assured all necessary assistance to quickly repatriate the body to India.
The embassy wrote in the X post-
“Deeply regret to inform that local police have recovered the body of missing Indian student Saket Srinivasiah. We will provide all necessary assistance to the family, including coordination with local authorities and repatriation of the body to India. Our officials are in direct touch with the family and will cooperate with all formalities.”
Police launched extensive search operation-
Saket was last seen about a kilometer away from the campus before he went missing. Police conducted an extensive search of Lake Anza and the Berkeley Hills area. During the investigation, the bag containing his passport and laptop was found near Tilden Regional Park near campus.
According to media reports, Saket’s body was found in Anja Lake near Berkeley Hills.
Saket’s educational background-
Saket Srinivasaiah was pursuing Master of Science in Product Development Program (PDP). His academic performance and hard work made him a respected student in the university. This incident is a deep shock to his family and the university community.
The Indian Embassy and local authorities are ensuring that the body is returned to India quickly and safely, so that the family can prepare for the last rites.
