Famous comedy actor Rajpal Yadav is currently lodged in Tihar jail over a loan case of Rs 9 crore. He had recently surrendered in the court for not being able to repay the loan due to financial constraints. This matter is said to be about 16 years old, the reason for which was his directorial debut film Ata Pata Lapata. Actually, Rajpal Yadav had taken a loan of about Rs 5 crore to make this film, but the film flopped badly at the box office. Due to not being able to return the amount on time, this amount along with interest and penalty increased to around Rs 9 crore.

In the difficult times of Rajpal Yadav, many big names of the film industry have come forward in his support. Famous director Priyadarshan has also taken special steps to help them. Rajpal has worked with Priyadarshan in many hit films and their pairing has been greatly appreciated by the audience. Priyadarshan recently told in an interview that he has known Rajpal for more than 20 years. He first saw him in Jungle and was impressed by his comic timing. After this, both of them worked together in many films including Malamaal Weekly.

Despite the pre-fixed fee, the director requested the film’s producer (Jubilee Films) to pay Rajpal more than the fixed amount in view of his current condition. The producer has agreed to his point.
