Voting for the 13th national parliamentary election ended on Thursday. The Election Commission of Bangladesh on Friday declared the official results of 297 out of 300 seats.
According to the declared results, BNP and its allies got a total of 212 seats. At the same time, the electoral alliance led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami got 77 seats, Islami Andolan Bangladesh got one seat, and independent candidates got seven seats.
Tariq Rehman’s swearing in
After this big victory of BNP, Tariq Rehman will take oath on 17th February. His swearing-in ceremony is considered to give a new dimension to the political and cultural relations between the two countries.
