According to the data available till 6 February 2026, the accounts of 30,18,361 farmers have not been found linked to Aadhaar. Its biggest impact can be seen in big agricultural states. The accounts of more than 10 lakh farmers in Uttar Pradesh are not linked to Aadhaar. Apart from this, a large number of accounts are also pending in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Although the number of affected farmers is less in smaller states and union territories like Sikkim, Goa and Chandigarh, some beneficiaries may face problems there too.

Financial assistance of Rs 6000 every year to farmers

Under PM Kisan Yojana, the central government provides financial assistance of Rs 6000 every year to the farmers. This amount is sent directly to the bank accounts of the farmers in three equal installments. This payment is made through DBT system, in which it is necessary to have a bank account verified with Aadhaar. If the account is not linked to Aadhaar or the verification is incomplete, the payment may fail or remain pending.

How to link Aadhaar?

Farmers can easily check their account status. For this, they can check the Aadhaar link status by logging into net banking or mobile banking app. Apart from this, information can be obtained by visiting your nearest bank branch. Many banks also inform the status of Aadhaar linking through ATM or SMS facility.

If your bank account is not linked to Aadhaar, it is very easy to update it. You can complete this process through “Aadhaar Seeding” option in the online banking portal. To adopt the offline method, the form will have to be filled in the bank branch along with Aadhar card and passbook. After completion of the process, confirmation is sent by the bank through SMS or email.
