After winning the toss, Pakistan invited India to bat first. With the help of Ishan Kishan’s stormy half-century, Team India scored 175 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan team could score only 114 runs for 10 wickets in 18 overs. This is India’s third consecutive win in the current tournament. At the same time, with this victory, the team led by Suryakumar Yadav reached the Super-8 by topping the points table of Group A.

In response to India’s 176 runs, Pakistan’s pair of Sahibzada Farhan and Sam Ayub entered, but Hardik made Farhan walk and did not even allow him to open the account. Hardik’s first over was maiden. After this Bumrah took charge. He came with the second over and took the wicket of Sam Ayub on the very second ball. Only 6 runs came from Sam’s bat. In the same over, Bumrah also took the wicket of Captain Salman. That means Pakistan’s score in two overs was 13-3. After this the Indian bowlers wreaked havoc. Akshar Patel bowled Babar Azam in the 5th over. Only 5 runs came from Babar’s bat. After 6 overs, Pakistan’s score was 38-4, but after that Usman Khan and Shadab Khan took over the innings. A good partnership flourished between the two. After 10 overs, Pakistan’s score was 71-4, but Axar Patel broke the 39-run partnership between Usman and Shadab.
