Big step of Nitish government in Bihar, 17 thousand soldiers will be reinstated; Retired personnel of paramilitary forces also get a chance
Bihar News: Bihar government has taken a big decision to strengthen the security system of the state. The government has accelerated the process of recruitment for 17 thousand posts in Bihar Special Auxiliary Police (SAP). This decision has been taken after the approval of the cabinet. Till now, only retired Indian Army soldiers were kept in SAP on contract basis. But this time the government has changed the rules.
Law and order will become stronger
With this action of Nitish government, retired soldiers from paramilitary forces like CRPF, BSF, ITBP etc. will also get the opportunity of direct appointment. The government believes that all these soldiers are already trained and experienced, hence their recruitment will further strengthen law and order.
Home Department asked for financial approval
The Home Department has sought budget and financial approval to implement this scheme. The proposal also includes the issue of increasing salaries. There is a proposal to increase the honorarium of Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) from Rs 35 thousand to Rs 40 thousand per month. There is a plan to increase the salary of general SAP personnel from Rs 25 thousand to Rs 30 thousand per month.
How many posts are included?
According to the government’s estimate, recruitment on 17 thousand posts with increased salary will put an additional burden of about Rs 642 crore on the state exchequer every year. These posts include 150 officers, 16,300 soldiers and 550 other posts.
Recruitment will help in crime control
The population of Bihar is about 13 crores. In comparison, the number of police forces in the state is considered less. In such a situation, the government says that with these recruitments the number of police will increase and law and order will improve. This will help in crime control and the common people will get a safer environment. This step of the government is being considered as a big effort towards strengthening the security system of the state.
