‘Do Aur Do Paanch’: Soham Rockstar claims exclusive rights

Soham Rockstar Entertainment issued a public notice to claim its rights over the Hindi film Do and Do Paanch which was released in 1980 because the company plans to protect its intellectual property rights.

The public announcement which appeared in Atul Mohan’s Complete Cinema publication on February 14 2026 addresses “to the general public at large”.

The production company states that it is the “sole and exclusive negative copyright holder”, along with all negative rights and intellectual property rights connected to Do and Do Paanch.

The company asserts derivative rights which include the right to produce prequels and sequels and remakes and all Indian and foreign languages and all adaptations which include comic books and television serial rights and stage play rights and novelisation rights and all products which use the script.

The scope of the project extends beyond its current boundaries. The notice further covers the film’s underlying works and all rights which include reproduction rights and music and sound recording rights and dubbing rights and any other rights which may exist in the future.

The company combines the film’s universe with all its distribution methods into a single operational system.

The notice states that any attempt to copy or reproduce or distribute or publicly exhibit or broadcast or communicate the film to the public or digitize or adapt or exploit any part of the film without obtaining prior written approval will result in copyright infringement which can lead to civil or criminal penalties under copyright laws.

Soham Rockstar Entertainment has issued a specific warning to all people and organizations and broadcasting networks and online platforms and distribution companies and movie theatres against using the Amitabh Bachchan-Shashi Kapoor film without proper authorization.
