Rain and snowfall in North India from 16-18 February, dense fog in 23 districts, know the condition of your city.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it is going to rain in many states of North India from February 16 to February 18. This rain can be of light to moderate level, and at some places there is a possibility of strong winds, thunder and lightning. Therefore people need to be careful, especially those who work outside or are travelling.

Rain alert in 7 states of North India

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain warning in these states of North India:

Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh- There may be rain or snowfall on 16 and 17 February.

Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand – There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in hilly areas on 17 and 18 February.

Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan – There may be heavy rain with thunder on 17 and 18 February.

Uttar Pradesh (especially western part) – Light to moderate rain, strong winds and danger of lightning at some places on 17 and 18 February.

Madhya Pradesh- Possibility of light rain on 18th and 19th February.

This change is happening due to a new Western Disturbance, which is bringing snowfall in the mountains and rain in the plains. Farmers, farm workers and travelers should be especially cautious, because lightning can pose a danger.

Dense fog in 23 districts, difficult to drive in the morning

Despite the decrease in cold, dense fog is still troubling in the morning. Due to very low visibility, drivers will have to be careful. Affected districts include:

Uttar Pradesh- Agra, Oraiya, Ayodhya, Badaun, Baghpat, Ballia, Balrampur, Gorakhpur, Hamirpur, Jhansi, Jalaun, Kanpur, Lucknow etc.

Haryana- Gurugram, Panipat, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal.

Punjab- Amritsar, Patiala, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Moga, Pathankot.

Himachal Pradesh- Kangra, Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu, Mandi, Hamirpur, Una, Sirmaur, Kinnaur. People traveling early in the morning should use headlights, drive slowly and be careful in fog.

Delhi weather

The weather will be clear in Delhi on 16 February. There is no chance of rain. There may be light to moderate fog in the morning, which will cause a cold feeling. Children and elderly people are advised to wear warm clothes and take care of their health. Maximum temperature around 28 degrees Celsius. The temperature may increase by 2-3 degrees in the coming days, and the air will remain clean due to improvement in AQI.

Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain, strong winds and lightning in Western Uttar Pradesh (like Meerut, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Shamli, Moradabad, Amroha, Bulandshahr) on 17 and 18 February. Farmer brothers should be careful while working in the fields. There is no possibility of rain in Bihar right now. But there will be moderate to dense fog in Mithilanchal and Seemanchal areas (Madhubani, Darbhanga, Purnia, Saharsa, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, Bhagalpur). Be careful while travelling. Patna, Gaya, Jehanabad will feel cold in the morning.

Uttarakhand weather

The weather will deteriorate in Uttarakhand on 17 and 18 February. There may be rain or snowfall in districts like Chamoli, Rudra Prayag, Almora, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar. People going to hilly areas must check the weather updates first, because the roads can be slippery.
