- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup maida or wheat flour
- 1 egg (optional)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar (as per taste)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence (optional)
- 1-2 tbsp butter or oil
Banana Pancake Recipe
Banana pancake is a tasty and healthy dish. To make this, first peel the ripe bananas and put them in a bowl. Mash them well with the help of a fork, so that no big pieces remain. The riper the bananas, the sweeter and softer the pancakes will be.
Now add egg to the mashed banana and beat it well. If you want to make it eggless, you can leave out the egg. After this add milk, sugar and vanilla essence. Sift flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl.
Now slowly mix the dry ingredients into the banana mixture. Keep in mind that the batter should not be too thin or too thick. Its consistency should be like normal dosa batter.
Heat a non-stick pan on medium flame. Apply a little butter or oil. Now pour a ladle of batter on the pan and spread it in a round shape.
Cook it for 2-3 minutes until small bubbles start appearing on top. Then turn and cook from the other side also until it turns golden. Prepare the remaining pancakes in the same manner. Serve warm banana pancakes with honey, maple syrup, chocolate sauce or fresh fruit. If you want, you can also add chopped bananas and dry fruits on top.
