Political leaders across India heaps  praise on the Indian cricket team’s

emphatic 61-run victory over Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium. India’s commanding performance helped the team reach the Super Eight stage of the tournament.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah led the congratulatory messages, celebrating the win and lauding the Men in Blue on social media. He wrote that while formats and venues may change, the result in India vs Pakistan clashes has been “consistent” — a nod to India’s strong record in the fixture.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also congratulated the team, describing the victory as a “grand win” coinciding with the festival of Maha Shivratri and extending his best wishes to players and supporters alike.
