After cold, now humidity enters… rain in 6 states, snowfall alert on mountains

New Delhi:The weather in the country is once again taking a turn. While till a few days ago severe cold was being felt, now the temperature has started increasing in many areas. Humidity is beginning in South India, while night temperatures may gradually rise in the north-western states also. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of rain with thunder in many states.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), there may be rain or snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on 17 and 18 February. There is a possibility of change in the weather in these areas due to the effect of western disturbance. During this time, light to moderate rain or snowfall may also be seen in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Due to this, the cold may increase again in the hilly areas and travelers have been advised to exercise caution.

Rain with thunder and lightning in the plains

IMD has predicted rain and thundershowers at some places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on February 17 and 18. In these states the weather can change suddenly and strong winds can also blow. There are chances of rain at some places in Madhya Pradesh on 18 and 19 February. Here winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. At present, it is cold in the morning and night in many parts of the state, but slight warmth is being felt during the day.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in North-West India may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the next two days. After this, there is a possibility of similar drop in temperature in two days. Similarly, a slight increase in temperature may be seen in some parts of Western India. At present, there is no possibility of much change in the minimum temperature in the rest of the country. However, there are signs of increasing humidity in the southern coastal areas.

Humidity will increase in South India

Coastal Karnataka may be affected by heat and humidity on 16 and 17 February. Similarly, there is a possibility of humid weather in Konkan and Goa on 16th February. The temperature may feel high during the day, which may cause problems to people.

There may be light fog in the national capital on Monday. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 28 degrees and the minimum temperature is expected to be around 12 degrees Celsius. A mixed effect of mild heat during the day and mild cold in the morning and evening can be seen.
