Bhopal’s Habibganj police station has detained two Scorpio-riding accused who committed the mobile snatching incident. The police have seized the Scorpio used in the incident along with 02 mobile phones worth Rs 1.5 lakh which had been snatched from the complainant. The incident of mobile snatching was revealed by the police through about a hundred CCTV cameras and informer system.

In fact, on 07.02.26, the complainant Piyush Malviya reached Habibganj police station and lodged a report that he was returning in his Aura (Rapido) car at 11.30 pm after taking a ride from Rani Kamlapati at Danapani Road Ishwar Nagar, when unknown 02 boys riding a Scorpio near Shalimar on Danapani Road stopped his car from the front and took away his 02 mobiles, IPHONE 13 and OPPO A5. The phone was snatched away from the Scorpio.
Robbers and police started searching in Scorpio
After receiving information about the serious incident of snatching, the police of Habibganj police station formed a special team. The investigation was started by the special team with the help of informer system. About a hundred CCTV footage of people coming and going from the incident site were observed by the police teams and special teams were deployed in the surrounding areas. The police, with the help of the informer system and CCTV cameras of the local police station area, identified the direction in which the accused fled after the incident, took immediate action on the information that the Scorpio vehicle used in the incident was parked near Shahpura Railway Colony, surrounded them and caught both the accused. The arrested accused told during interrogation that when both of us went out for a walk, both of them thought that they can earn money quickly and in the desire to earn money quickly, they conspired to commit a major crime by going to a big place, and snatched 02 mobile phones, IPHONE 13 and OPPO A5, from the person going by car and went to their home. Police have arrested the accused and recovered the looted goods from them.
