PM Modi and Macron will meet tomorrow, will review strategic partnership during bilateral talks

New Delhi, 16 February. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mumbai on 17 February 2026, where he will meet French President Emmanuel Macron. On the invitation of PM Modi, President Emmanuel Macron will be on an official visit to India from 17-19 February 2026. He will participate in the AI ​​Impact Summit being held in India and will also hold a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister in Mumbai. This will be President Macron’s fourth visit to India and first visit to Mumbai. On February 17 at around 3:15 pm, both the leaders will hold a bilateral meeting at Lok Bhawan, Mumbai.

During this meeting, they will review the developments in the India-France strategic partnership. Their talks will focus on strengthening the strategic partnership and further diversifying it into new and emerging areas. Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will also exchange views on issues of regional and global importance. At around 5:15 pm, the two leaders will inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation 2026 and address a meeting of business leaders, start-ups, researchers and other innovators from the two countries.

During this visit, the two leaders will discuss strengthening mutual cooperation in several areas outlined in the Horizon 2047 roadmap. Apart from this, we will also discuss regional and global issues of mutual benefit, including cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. Both the leaders will be present in Mumbai to inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation. This event will be celebrated in both the countries throughout the year till 2026. President Macron will participate in the AI ​​Impact Summit in New Delhi on 19 February.

Let us tell you that France is also participating in the India AI Impact Expo Summit which is going to start in India from 16th February. PM Modi will inaugurate this summit. The event will also have representatives from 13 countries, showcasing international collaboration in the AI ​​ecosystem. These include representatives from Australia, Japan, Russia, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and African countries.

There is going to be a defense dialogue between India and France on 17th February, which will be co-chaired by the Defense Ministers of both the countries. During this time, Prime Minister Modi and Macron will virtually inaugurate Tata Airbus’s H125 helicopter assembly line in Vemagal, Karnataka. This is the 6th annual dialogue between India and France. This dialogue will take place in Bengaluru on 17 February. In this meeting, there will be a complete review of defense cooperation between the two countries, especially the emphasis will be on increasing partnership in the defense industry.
