Basketball player Stephen Curry will participate in the 2027 All-Star Three-Point Contest
Phoenix. NBA team Golden State Warriors star basketball player Stephen Curry has announced that he will participate in the three-point (3-point) shooting competition to be held during the 2027 All-Star Weekend. This event will be held in Phoenix.
Curry made the announcement Sunday from NBC’s television set, just before the All-Star Game, which was played in Inglewood, California.
37-year-old Curry has been a two-time champion of this competition. He won the title in 2015 and 2021. “One hundred percent. I’ve already included it in my schedule,” he said.
Curry also said he would try to convince his former teammate Klay Thompson to enter the competition. Thompson is currently playing for the Dallas Mavericks.
Curry is the record holder in NBA history with 4,233 three-point shots in the regular season and 650 three-point shots in the playoffs. However, he missed Sunday’s All-Star Game due to a knee injury.
Meanwhile, Damian Lillard won the three-point competition held on Saturday and won the title for the third time. He has now joined Larry Bird (1986–88) and Craig Hodges (1990–92), who had won the event three times each.
Lillard also won this title in 2023 and 2024. Although he has not played in regular season matches since suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon on April 27, he had no issues in Saturday’s contest.
