TVS Supply Chain Solutions signs MoU with ALA Group to enter India’s $28 billion aerospace and defence market

TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Italy-based ALA Group to jointly pursue opportunities in India’s rapidly expanding aerospace and defence sectors. The collaboration is aimed at building an integrated, end-to-end supply chain platform to serve production and aftermarket requirements across complex, regulated and mission-critical programmes.

India’s aerospace and defence market, currently estimated at nearly $28 billion, is emerging as one of the most dynamic and profitable segments within industrial supply chains. Rising defence spending, localisation initiatives, defence offset programmes, and the increasing presence of global OEMs are driving demand for compliant, digitally enabled and resilient supply chain solutions.

Under the MoU, TVS SCS and ALA Group will establish a strategic framework to jointly explore aerospace and defence supply chain opportunities, initially focusing on India with potential to expand into other geographies over time. A key area of emphasis will be defence offset programmes, where global manufacturers partner with Indian companies to meet local sourcing requirements.

The partnership will provide integrated services across the entire aerospace and defence lifecycle, including production support, spare parts distribution, inventory optimisation, defence-grade logistics solutions, logistics engineering, and comprehensive aftermarket and MRO support. These capabilities are designed to support OEMs, MRO providers, operators and government stakeholders through seamless, digitally driven supply chain models.

TVS SCS will leverage its strong domestic presence in India along with deep experience gained through its UK operations in defence and utilities supply chains. The company brings expertise in procurement, regulatory and licensing compliance, government and stakeholder engagement, warehousing and logistics infrastructure, as well as digital supply chain platforms. Its aerospace, defence and utilities vertical currently generates approximately $140 million in annual revenue, primarily anchored in defence and utility programmes in the United Kingdom.

ALA Group, which reported revenues of $345 million in 2024, will contribute global aerospace and defence domain expertise, advanced technology platforms and long-standing relationships with international OEMs and operators across Europe, the US and the UK. Its strength in production supply chains and established global network is expected to complement TVS SCS’s local execution capabilities, creating a differentiated and scalable value proposition for India’s aerospace and defence ecosystem.

The collaboration also opens significant headroom for scaling combined capabilities, particularly in high-value segments such as aftermarket services and in-service supply chains across the Asia-Pacific region. With increasing complexity in aerospace platforms and heightened compliance standards in defence logistics, integrated and digitally enabled supply chain partnerships are expected to play a critical role in programme success.
