Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has given a big statement regarding the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi. This statement has created a stir in the party. He has described Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin as the best leader to strengthen the INDIA alliance. He has also sharply criticized some leaders of the Congress Party.
He also commented on Rahul Gandhi. He said that Rahul Gandhi can become the Prime Minister of India but for that someone will have to continuously try to strengthen the India block. Comparing Stalin with Rahul Gandhi on this issue, he said that like Rahul Gandhi, Stalin not only raises slogans but also raises issues related to federalism.

Iyer said, ‘If the INDIA block becomes strong, then the best leader to unite it is MK Stalin. When Kamaraj ji was asked to become the Prime Minister after Nehru ji, he said only one thing, ‘Neither English, nor Hindi. How?’ Stalin is also in a similar situation. Rahul Gandhi can become the Prime Minister of India, but for this someone will have to spend all his time in strengthening the INDIA block. In the last one year, Stalin not only raised slogans but also raised every important issue related to federalism. He never gave slogans like ‘Suit-Boot Sarkar’, ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’. So I think Stalin is best to become the Chairman of INDIA block. His biggest quality is that he will not come in the way of Rahul Gandhi becoming Prime Minister.
Apart from this he also talked about Kerala politics. He praised Pinarayi Vijayan’s government. On the internal feuds of the Congress party in Kerala, he said, ‘Who will vote for a party whose leaders oppose each other? The people of Kerala know everything about the leadership of Congress. At least there is discipline in Pinarayi’s government. They have no Mani Shankar Iyer. I am like this because Nehru and Subhash Chandra Bose rebelled against Gandhiji, yet Gandhiji made Nehru the Prime Minister. How does Congress deal with dissent today? It makes a person like Pawan Kheda its spokesperson. I have no respect for Pawan Kheda.
Pawan Kheda was called a ‘puppet’
Iyer called Pawan Kheda a ‘puppet’ and ‘parrot’. He said, ‘Whatever Pawan Kheda says, he repeats it after hearing it from Jairam Ramesh. There are lakhs of better people in the party, but he was made the spokesperson. Pawan Kheda ties up with MA Baby in Delhi and makes me angry over his association with Pinarayi Vijayan. What kind of Congressman is this?
He also targeted KC Venugopal. Iyer said, ‘What will be the condition of a party which brings a person like KC Venugopal to the level of Sardar Patel and Rahul Gandhi?’
Shashi Tharoor also targeted
Speaking on Shashi Tharoor, Iyer said that Tharoor is anti-Pakistan and wants to become the foreign minister. He said, ‘Kerala has one-third Muslim population, how will the people of Kerala accept such a person as the Chief Minister? He is ready to become the Foreign Minister for BJP also.
Describing himself as a member of the party, Iyer said, ‘I am in Congress, I have not left it. If Pawan Kheda expels me, I will happily go out and destroy him. Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, he said, ‘I am a Gandhian, a Nehruvian, a Rajivian, but not a Rahulian. Rahul Gandhi has forgotten that I am a member of the party.

What did Annamalai say?
Former Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai, reacting to Aiyar’s statements, said that Aiyar earlier used to insult Modi by calling him a chaiwala. Now he is weakening Congress in Kerala and showing alliance with communists. He said that this shows the broken ideas of Congress and Communists. BJP is growing in Kerala and this statement is a sign of Congress’s defeat.
