Once again ‘X’ down, users facing problems in accessing accounts
The services of X (formerly Twitter) were suddenly affected globally on Monday, due to which millions of users faced problems in using the platform. Due to this technical glitch, many people could not access their feed, while some users saw only a blank screen when they opened the app and website. It was also revealed in many complaints that the platform was shutting down again after being operational for some time, due to which the users had to face continuous problems.
What did the affected users say?
According to outage monitoring website Downdetector, a large number of users started filing complaints from around 7 pm. So far, more than 45,000 people have reported that they are not able to use the platform normally. Affected users say that they are unable to view their timeline and share new posts, due to which their activities have been completely disrupted.
This technical problem was not limited to any one country or region, rather its impact was seen in many parts of the world. According to the available data, about 49 percent of users had trouble navigating the website, while 41 percent had difficulty logging in or using the mobile app. Additionally, about 10 percent of users complained that their timeline was not loading properly.
The impact of this outage was seen equally on both mobile and desktop versions of the platform. Many users reported that they were not able to see any content when they opened the app and despite repeated refreshes, there was no improvement in the situation. Apart from this, the chatbot Grok developed by Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI was also not working during this period, which further increased the problems of the users.
It is worth noting that this is the second time in the last one month that the platform has faced such a technical hurdle. Earlier on January 16, users in many countries including India, America, Britain and Canada had complained of access problems.
No official response came
However, no official response has yet come from the company or Elm Musk regarding the reasons for this latest outage and its solution. Technical fixes and system updates are usually made to fix such problems, after which services are gradually restored. But such continuous incidents have raised questions on the reliability and technical strength of the platform.
