**Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor** recently praised director **Sanjay Leela Bhansali** during an Instagram live session on February 15, 2026, calling him “the best director of the last four decades”, and also gave upcoming updates about his upcoming film **Love & War**. This session took place on the occasion of the anniversary of his lifestyle brand ARKS, in which Ranbir praised Bhansali’s work a lot.
Describing the collaboration as an “amazing experience”, she said: “Love & War has been an amazing experience. Working with Bhansali again blows my mind. A director who is the best of the last four decades. It will be really special. You will get updates very soon.” This is his third project after *Saawariya* (2007) and *Bajirao Mastani* (2015, which had Ranbir’s cameo), which has increased the wait for this grand period romantic drama.
The film stars **Ranbir Kapoor**, **Alia Bhatt**, and **Vicky Kaushal** in the lead roles, which promises a powerhouse ensemble cast in Bhansali’s signature scintillating style. Production has progressed and major sequences have been completed, including a recently completed song, although there have been delays due to the project’s scale, difficult VFX, aerial action, and difficult songs (according to early reports in February, more than two months of shooting remained).
Initially announced for Christmas 2025, the release shifted to March 20, 2026, then was further speculated to be postponed to 2027 due to an extended schedule. Confirming the delay in the live, Ranbir said that the film will now come after his **Ramayan: Part One** (Diwali 2026), and will probably release in late 2026 (probably December) to avoid clashes with other big releases like *Dhurandhar 2* and *Toxic*. Sources close to the production have reiterated a promise of a 2026 release, denying a year-long effort is needed, and insisting that the essential parts have been completed.
With fans eagerly waiting for the official update, the film’s big vision and star power is making it one of the most awaited releases of 2026.
