“Boycott Would Have Been Better”: Former player mocks Pakistan after loss to India
Pakistan’s 61-run defeat to India in Colombo on Sunday severely impacted their T20 World Cup campaign and sparked a backlash back home. Former cricketer Danish Kaneria was one of the first to criticize Salman Ali Agha’s squad after another one-sided contest in their historic rivalry.
Pakistan’s crushing defeat in Colombo not only damaged their Super 8 chances but also led to a wave of criticism.
As the high-stakes encounter was about to begin, a Pakistani X account made a bold claim, stating that the match was being shown publicly across all tehsils of Dera Ghazi Khan in southwestern Punjab. Kaneria quickly fired back, saying the screening only allowed fans to witness the harsh reality in high definition.
It really helped everyone witness the reality in high definition. https://t.co/N0mzBkpAvE

Kaneria didn’t hold back, remarking that Pakistan’s initial threat to skip the India game would have been less humiliating than the one-sided domination India displayed at the R Premadasa Stadium.
Honestly, a boycott might have been less embarrassing. #INDvsPAK

The ex-spinner’s comments came amidst the rising frustration over Pakistan’s persistent failures against India in major tournaments, with Sunday’s defeat adding another dark chapter to the team’s cricketing history.
