IPL: CSK makes new record of defeat at Chepauk, Chennai ગુજરાત
Chennai Super Kings’ losing streak continues in the Indian Premier League 2025 as they lost against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their latest match. This is the second defeat on CSK’s home ground which has ruined the hopes of Dhoni and company of reaching the playoffs.
A lot of things have gone wrong for CSK this season. Neither his team could perform in a unified manner nor did Dhoni’s batting show that finishing touch for which he is famous. The injury to regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has also not helped the team’s performance. As captain, Dhoni has not even been successful in winning matches.
Not only this, CSK has also faced its fourth defeat of the season in its stronghold like Chepauk. This is his worst performance so far in his own backyard. In the 2008 season, CSK lost four out of seven matches at Chepauk. They also lost four matches in the 2012 season but after that they played 10 matches on their home ground. In the 2025 season, CSK have lost four out of five matches at Chepauk, which is a new low for their performance in the IPL.
Moreover, this is the fourth consecutive defeat of Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk. This has never happened before in a single season. These figures show that it has been a really bad time for CSK this season. That’s why the ‘Men in Yellow’ are at the bottom of the points table with only two wins and seven losses in 9 matches so far.
On the other hand, for Sunrisers Hyderabad, this is their first win in six times against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk. This is the moment to create history for them and now their account has been opened against CSK on this ground. In this sense this victory is very special. But the condition of Sunrisers is also not very good this season. However, with the win they have got the chance of their life as the Men in Orange are 8th on the points table after three wins in 9 matches.
