‘In the pursuit of making a rich man’s SUV and reel, my son was destroyed’; Mother’s scream will tear the heart after son’s death in Delhi accident
A road accident that took place on February 3 in Delhi’s Dwarka area left a family in deep grief. 23 year old Sahil Dhaneshra Died when a minor collided with a bike and an SUV while driving. A cab driver was also injured in the accident. This painful incident has raised questions on road safety and rule following in the city. Sahil’s parents say that several challans were already registered on the SUV involved in the accident. The family is now expecting justice from the police and demanding a fair investigation into the case.
Police said that the SUV was coming from the direction of the Gurudwara, while Sahil was coming in the opposite direction on his bike. After the collision, the SUV spun and also collided with a cab parked on the roadside. Sahil was taken to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.
Sahil’s mother narrated her ordeal by releasing the video
Sahil’s mother recently shared an emotional video on social media, in which she alleged that her son was killed while making “speed fun reels” by a minor driving an unlicensed SUV. In the video, Sahil’s mother appealed to the government, media and local people for help in getting justice. She said, ‘I raised my child as a single mother for 23 years. On February 3, my innocent child was blown away by a car. I am a helpless mother.
In the post accompanying the video, he wrote: ‘I raised my son Sahil Dhaneshra alone for 23 years. My son, who was 22+ years old, smart and talented, was brutally killed by a minor driving a Scorpio N with number UP57BM3057 and his sister while making Speed Fun Reels in Dwarka.
What did Sahil’s mother tell?
Sahil’s mother Inna Makan told NDTV that ‘We got the call after 1 pm. I took my car and ran there. My son was lying on the road, his jacket was torn… his condition was very bad… I understood that he was screaming for 10 minutes. The ambulance was there but he was not taken to hospital.”
Did Miner drive the vehicle without a license?
Police investigation revealed that the minor who was driving the car at the time of the accident was without a license. During this time the cab driver also got injured and was admitted to the hospital. Inna Makan said that the police assured me that the investigation will be fair, even though the minor has got bail for the school board exams. I met ACP and DCP. He said that the investigation will be fair. We also received the postmortem report today.”
Bail and family problems
Makan told that she came to know about the bail later because she was busy in the last rites of her son. All my relatives live far away. My sister, her husband, my mother, my brother…we were only four-five people. We were busy with the child’s funeral. That’s why we didn’t know it.”
Family’s hope and demand for justice
Sahil’s parents made it clear that they expect justice and are demanding a fair investigation from the police. The family says that such incidents raise questions on following road safety rules and strict steps should be taken to prevent such incidents in future.
