How will guests use the service?
NPCI has made this service very easy. This service is available at NPCI Pavilion at Hall No. 14 and Summit Venue (Bharat Mandapam) of New Delhi International Airport. Guests have to download the CheqUPI app, enter their basic information and set up their UPI PIN with selfie verification. They can load up to ₹25,000 at a time, with a monthly limit of ₹50,000. The best part is that if there is any balance in the wallet at the end of the trip, it can be transferred back to their original payment source (foreign account).
Why is this activity special?
According to Sohini Rajola, Executive Director of Growth, NPCI, this service allows foreign tourists to experience India’s Made in India digital public infrastructure (DPI). This not only promotes global connectivity but also shows how seamless cross-border payments can become in the future.
