Importance of Ramadan and Sehri dishes
Ramadan is a holy month of Islam, in which Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. This is the time of self-control, patience and devotion to God. During this time people offer namaz, recite Quran and help the needy. The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated at the end of Ramadan. Sehri has special significance, as it is the main source of energy for fasting throughout the day. It can be a challenge for women to prepare nutritious and healthy dishes during Sehri.
Easy recipes for delicious Sehri
Waking up early in the morning can be difficult to balance taste and health in the limited time. During Sehri, such dishes should be prepared which are rich in protein, fiber and energy. Here are some easy and quick recipes, which will be perfect for your Sehri.
Veg Oats Upma
To make this, heat some oil in a pan. Then add mustard seeds, curry leaves and finely chopped green chillies. After this, add vegetables like carrots, peas and capsicum and fry lightly. Separately, lightly fry dry oats and then mix them with vegetables. Add salt as per taste and some water, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes. Finally add lemon juice and serve hot.
Besan Cheela
Put gram flour in a bowl and add salt, turmeric, celery, finely chopped onion and tomato. Prepare a smooth and slightly thin batter by gradually adding water. Heat the pan and apply a little oil. Pour the prepared batter on the pan, spread it in a round shape and cook on medium flame until it becomes golden and crisp from both the sides. Serve it hot with green chutney or curd.
Moong Dal Chilla
Grind soaked moong dal and make a paste. Add ginger, green chilli and salt in it. Add light oil on the pan, spread the batter and cook till it becomes crisp. If you want, you can also fill it with cheese.
Egg Bhurji
Heat oil in a pan. Add finely chopped onion and fry until golden, then add chopped tomatoes and let them soften. Add turmeric and salt as per taste and mix well. Add the beaten eggs and stir continuously on medium flame so that the eggs become granular. Delicious egg bhurji will be ready in about 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle green coriander and serve it with hot roti.
Aloo Paratha
Mash the boiled potatoes and add salt, red chilli, green coriander and garam masala to it. Make a ball of dough, fill it with potato mixture and roll it. Apply ghee or oil on the pan and cook till it turns golden. Serve it with curd.
Dates and Banana Smoothie
Add 1 banana, 3-4 dates (with seeds removed), a glass of milk and soaked almonds in the mixer. Grind well and serve chilled. This smoothie will provide you energy during breakfast.
