A trap named “Salary Calculator” is coming on WhatsApp
These days, an .APK file named “Salary Calculator” or “Salary Calculate” is being sent on WhatsApp. It is written in the message that you can calculate your new salary through this app. It sounds good, but in reality this whole game is of fraud. As soon as you download this file, the security of your mobile becomes at risk. Remember, no government department sends such files on WhatsApp.
Mobile can be hacked as soon as you install APK
As soon as this fake .APK file is installed, the fraudsters gain control of your phone. This app can read your bank details, personal information, even OTP. Then the money is silently cleared from your account and you don’t even have a clue. Later, one gets shocked after seeing the bank balance. Therefore, do not click on unknown links or files at all.
Government never sends app on WhatsApp
Cyber agencies have clearly said that the government does not provide any kind of salary or pay commission related information by sending .APK file through WhatsApp. If you want correct information related to 8th Pay Commission then only official website. 8th Pay Commission (https://8cpc.gov.in/) or trust other government portals only. Relying on sporadic links is asking for trouble.
What to do if you get such a message?
If you also get such a message, delete it immediately. Do not download or forward it to anyone even by mistake. Also warn your office mates and acquaintances.
