Hindu men were tied to trees and burnt… Massacre of minorities continues in Bangladesh, government is just condemning!

New Delhi:Many people of Hindu community were murdered in Bangladesh in December 2025. These incidents are not isolated crimes, but part of a long-running pattern of violence and insecurity against Hindu minorities. These murders increased rapidly amidst political instability, religious fanaticism and institutional weakness, due to which there is an atmosphere of fear in the Hindu community.

Pattern of murders in December 2025

At least several Hindu men were killed in December 2025, in most cases by mob violence. Prominent names include Dipu Chandra Das, Amrit Mandal, Prantosh Karmakar, Jogesh Chandra Roy, Subarna Roy, Shanto Das etc. These murders took place in different districts, but there is a similarity in them – allegations are made, mob justice is given before investigation and the legal process is ignored.

For example, the murder of Dipu Chandra Das became much talked about. Dipu, who worked in a garment factory in Mymensingh district, was accused of making remarks against Islam. The mob dragged him from the workplace, beat him, took him to the street, tied him to a tree and burnt him alive.

No concrete evidence was found later in the investigation, but by then it was too late. Similarly, Amrit Mandal was beaten to death in Rajbari district. Officials linked it to a criminal background, but the mob execution instills fear among minorities.

Impact of religious fanaticism and political instability

These murders begin with allegations of blasphemy, which are made without evidence. Such allegations have become an easy weapon to target Hindus. During political turmoil, law and order weakens and the Hindu community becomes most vulnerable.

Radical groups use religious nationalism, which increases attacks on minorities. Anti-India rhetoric also contributes to this, making it easier to target Hindus.

Government response and shortcomings

The interim government of Muhammad Yunus condemned these killings and some arrests were made, but this was not enough for the Hindu community. Security does not just mean post-incident action, but pre-emptive prevention, prompt intervention and continuous accountability. Despite such incidents happening again and again, no major change took place. The allegations should be investigated in a legal manner and not by relying on the mob.
